X5 Pro "Rose" Slalom Waterski
2008 D3 X5 Pro Rose Slalom Waterski

Carly Clifton

We have developed technology based on the biomechanical differences between men and women.

Women skiers tend to carry their center of gravity lower and further back when compared to their male counterparts. With this difference in mind we adjusted the flat spot of the ski to allow female skiers to naturally stand directly over the skis fulcrum point.

We also have adjusted the rocker pattern to allow women to more easily apply energy to the tip for effortless turn initiation. Men have a significant portion of their mass centered in their upper body. This allows them to move weight to the tip quicker and with less movement. By adjusting the rocker to allow this to happen sooner and with less effort a lighter weight skier can turn just as efficiently.

One of the surprises in our testing was that the ski flex only had to be very slightly decreased for optimum performance. Our skis have always been on the softer side so not much flex adjustment was necessary. Slalom course performance for women. SKI LIKE A GIRL!

Features and Benefits: Team D3 - Andrea Neely - 2007 D3 X5 Pro Rose Slalom Waterski

  • 100% Carbon Graphite laminates
  • Ultra lightweight machined "E" core
  • Machine screw inserts with built-in locking top
  • Accuset fully adjustable fin block

Aerospace E-Core

  • Faster rebound. Reduced swing weight

HTC (high torsion carbon) lay-up

  • Improves speed across and holding power into the edge change.

New rocker pattern

  • Tightens the radius of the turn on both sides of the course.

Extreme shortline flex pattern

  • Extra stiffness in the tip provides additional support at the shortest line lengths.
Repositioned flat spot
  • Helps the ski transition into the turn and exit the turn without hesitation.

Machine screw inserts

  • Inserts for the bindings (D3 / KD, HO or Connelly) and the fin block.

Longer sweet spot

  • provides increased acceleration, the ski keeps its width into the buoy.
  • calms the turns. giving an incredibly stable feel even at the shortest line lengths.

Precision fulcrum point

  • Makes turn initiation and turn completion effortless.
  • Puts a neutrally weighted skier precisely in the center of the pivot point of the turn. You must ski it to understand how good it feels.
  • Once in the center of the pivot point the ski will keep moving through the hardest short-line turns.

Micro-Tuned Bevels

  • The bevels have been tuned in the last 10 inches of the tail to give the ski a super-charged boost of speed out of each turn.
  • Reduces skier effort out of the turn making it easier to hold maximum angle.

Tougher insert anchors

  • Insert anchors have been strengthened for problem free mounting.
  • New insert design provides strength and eliminates the binding plates leverage on the insert and anchor.
